New Years day sees us flyin away from Heredia towards Cartago & the volcano ...

it starts raining as we ride up the road & we have to turn around soaking

we get a gaff half way up which is dry, but cant get anything to eat & so make do with our emergency bag of crisps & go to bed hungry but hot-showered

As we ride to Cartago in the morning all our gear is still wet ...

the sun in Cartago is wonderfully warming

the next section of the Pan Am rises to almost 3,400m ...

& we get caught in mist, rain & cold wind ...

2hrs of this turns fingers into fire sticks

we take 5 mins in a sun spot

and Sara's legs dont work due to cold & she falls over getting off the bike :)
