The ride from El Alto to Chile passes through a national park in Bolivia & Chile

with some breathtaking high altitude scenery

the fantastic scenes allow us to ignore the freezing hands ... we cross the border late

shortly afterwards we narrowly miss a vizcacha dashing across the road ...

just like one of Vic & Paul's chinchillas but slightly bigger with huge ears ... pardon ?

Putre is a one horse town and this is the horse

we must have missed a fuel station as we have 60 miles in the tank & 100 to go ...

bit like an old speakeasy goin on ... knock & ask for fuel from a jerry can ... bit like Karl's ;)
